Standard 4: Advocacy and Leadership
Candidates advocate for dynamic school library programs and positive learning environments that focus on student learning and achievement by collaborating and connecting with teachers, administrators, librarians, and the community. Candidates are committed to continuous learning and professional growth and lead professional development activities for other educators. Candidates provide leadership by articulating ways in which school libraries contribute to student achievement.
Personal Philosophy: I believe that working with and building relationships with all stakeholders in the school community is extremely important in the role of a library media specialist. It is important to advocate the library media center resources, and what I do as a library media specialist to help in the success of our students to administrators, local community resources, and student families. It important for all stakeholders to see how beneficial the library media center is to student achievement.
